Toledo Bend Lake Map Painting

Toledo Bend Lake is a beautiful lake! I just finished this map painting of Toledo Bend Lake. Soon it will be hanging in the customers lake house. I've never been to Toledo Bend Lake, but I can tell that it is a beloved lake by many. This map comes in vertical or horizontal configurations.  LeoLakes.com

Interestingly, I often get comments about the tiny mermaid hidden in the waters of all my maps. Folks love to tell me about the search for the mermaid. They say the children really enjoy hunting for her and are thrilled when they spot her in the waters. Oh yeah, some folks tell me that she moves, but I'm not sure that I believe that. LeoLakes.com

Most folks add a star to a special place on the lake such as a lake house or where they caught that big fish. I've been doing lake, river and bay maps for approximately seven years. Over the years, I have experimented with different elements of map art in order to provide the best and most unique map on the market. Folks will be drawn to the map like a crackling fire on a cold winter night.  I try very hard to make my maps special by adding interest to the maps. How to display an Old Outboard Motor

I have 1946 Western Auto Wizard outboard motor that I inherited from my dad. I've been working on how to display the motor. I keep a lot of old stuff like, paddles, floats, lures, etc... and thought that it would look good next to the maps. in this photo you can see the motor on the floor.

The major question: What to build to support the motor? My idea is to build a 2ft x 3ft up-right panel with legs and add a drawing showing the underwater with a boat on the surface.
Here's the background that I used. I added a few bass, catfish, and bream.

I finally placed the outboard motor on to the support and I wasn't impressed. After all this work, I don't like it. The motor is too big, the background is too cartoony, and it looks odd. So, back to the drawing board. I'm now thinking that a pipe with legs may be better, less background showing and more motor.

Stay tuned, I will be working on a new support in the future, but for now this support is going into the trash. Hey, paddle over to map website to see some beautiful Lake maps.

New Fourth of July Fishing Trend, Baitscaping!

Oh man, there's a new fishing trend out there that's hotter than a 4th of July firecracker! Now that's hot!!! It's called "Baitscaping", yep Baitscaping. The fish are going wild over this new fishing technique and the fishermen are too.

It massively increases your size and number....... of fish. Why do fish love it so much? Think about it, do you like something that's wild, hairy, and gnarly? Well some might, but really, with Baitscaping it's like turning chicken shit into chicken salad.  You may ask "What is Baitscaping? It's really simple as you can see from this diagram below of the gentlemen using the technique on his bait. How to catch bigger fish, "Baitscape!" You can do it too, go ahead and give it a try.

Oh yeah, don't forget to apply a little bait creme to provide that finished touch. Hey, drop us a line after you try it and let us know how it went.

Remember: "Don't Just Bait, Baitscape!"
